Web Design Portfolio: Semester Two (KPA)
⸻
This KPA portfolio consists of solutions for the web, including websites that target restaurant, blog, and e-commerce usability and elements.
Software(s) Used: Adobe Dreamweaver & Adobe Illustrator
Assignment 07.10.02: Site Design
For this project, I redesigned an existing website to learn essential web layout and design techniques. I chose Scott’s Hamburgers in Bixby, OK, where I rebuilt the site with a cleaner structure, updated visuals, and functional navigation. I began by reviewing their current website and creating a detailed wireframe to plan the new layout. Using Adobe Dreamweaver, I developed the pages with organized HTML/CSS, and in Adobe Illustrator, I created supporting graphics to enhance the brand’s look. One of the key features I added was a fully designed menu ordering page, giving the restaurant a more practical and user-friendly online presence.
Assignment 01.01.02: Site Layout and Frameworks
For this assignment, I created a fictitious travel blog website. The goal was to design a small site of two to three pages that demonstrated both functional coding and strong aesthetic design principles. I chose to build a travel blog where users could learn from other travelers’ experiences and find guidance on how to begin their own journey. I designed the overall look and layout using Illustrator and created wireframes for each page before building the site in Dreamweaver. This project was the most tedious for me, as I spent a considerable amount of time ensuring that every element worked properly. I ended up reorganizing and adjusting several parts of the layout to improve usability.
Assignment 03.09.02: User Experience Design
For this project, I designed a fictitious arts and crafts e-commerce store that includes usability, accessibility, and overall user design aesthetics through thoughtful interaction and layout design. Inspired by retail sites like Hobby Lobby and Michaels, I analyzed their shopping experiences and researched various Bootstrap themes to determine the essential elements needed for a successful online store. I created the brand identity and visual assets in Illustrator, then began building the static site demonstration in Dreamweaver. My solution includes key pages such as a categories page with a functional navbar dropdown, a detailed product page, and a cart page to reflect the typical user flow.
